Account Quickstart Guide

You can set up your Affilimate account in just a couple minutes and a few steps.

If you get stuck along the way or need technical help, you can reach out to us at any time using the blue Message icon in the bottom right corner of your screen, while logged in to your account.

Here's a 3-minute overview of the setup process:

Please note: Affilimate is designed to work with a website that you personally own. You cannot use Affilimate as intended with Facebook pages, Google sites, LinkedIn profiles, Instagram, TikTok profiles, etc. as your primary data source. We track revenue from all sources, but only automate attribution on your website.

And how to set up your account in 4 steps:

  1. Create your account
  2. Verify your website setup
  3. Import your affiliate links
  4. Set up integrations

Need to set up a large site? Contact us for support in onboarding websites with over 2 million monthly visitors, over 10,000 affiliate links or pages, or tracking a subset of your website to start.

1. Create your account

Go to and create your account. You'll be asked for a username, password, and to agree to our terms of service and privacy policy:

We'll then ask you for your name, and the URL of your website:

The Website URL should be a domain you own, not the domain of an affiliate program you want to integrate. You'll be able to add additional websites later.

Once your account is created, you'll set up your website.

2. Verify your website setup

To do this, you'll install our tracking snippet which collects website analytics, tracks your affiliate links, and appends Smart Labels.

The snippet should appear on all pages you want to track. It's typically installed site-wide, but can also be supplied to a subset of your pages on very large websites.

Go to your Dashboard and click the button called Waiting for data.

You'll see a few options for installing the snippet:

Affilimate's tracking snippet works just like Google Analytics, and can be installed in many of the same ways:

  • Directly into your theme's footer
  • Through a WordPress plugin
  • Or through Google Tag Manager

Affilimate is compatible with all website builders and platforms that produce a valid sitemap and allow you to install custom JavaScript.

Here's a video of the most popular way to install the snippet in WordPress, through the plugin Insert Headers and Footers:

For more options and website platforms, read our step-by-step installation guide.

Once you've installed the snippet, clear any site-level caching and your CDN. Then press Test Setup.

Affilimate will wait for your site to send data for the first time. Open your website in a new tab, visit any page where the snippet is installed, and refresh the page:

Once this succeeds, you'll see a green Success message.

Click the button called Begin site scan to trigger the scan of your website for affiliate links, and complete your setup.

Finally, we'll crawl your website for affiliate links with our Site Scan:

Once the scan completes, push the blue Import button to begin tracking and attributing your affiliate links!

4. Set up your affiliate network integrations

After signup, you'll land on the Performance screen:

This is where all your commissions are aggregated across different affiliate networks, platforms, and programs.

To start adding integrations, click the blue Import button. You'll see a list of possible networks:

Click the network you want to add (for example, Awin or ShareASale) in the left column.

Instructions for finding the API keys for each network are shown under a toggle called Show instructions next to the integration name:

Provide the requested data, click Test Connection, and import your sales.

Repeat for however many networks you want to connect. You can also add multiple connections to the same network. A full list of affiliate networks and programs Affilimate supports can be found here.

To get the most complete tracking for your website, you should enable revenue attribution through our Smart Label system.

For most sites, it's as simple as enabling Smart Labels in your Integrations settings:

For a guide on tracking for more complex setups, read our guide to revenue attribution.

Viola! Your setup is complete.

At this point, your Affilimate account is all set up!

You can add additional websites, run your first reports on your affiliate commissions, or check back tomorrow for your first set of on-site analytics and heatmaps.
